The St. Louis Cardinals took on the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. The Cardinals came away with a 6-3 victory, which was the second straight loss for the Brewers and the second consecutive win for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, with a solo home run by Nolan Gorman and a two-run homer by Paul Goldschmidt.

The Brewers cut the lead to 3-2 with a two-run homer by Willy Adames in the third inning, but the Cardinals extended their lead to 5-2 with a two-run homer by Juan Yepez in the top of the fourth inning.

The Brewers closed the gap to 5-3 with a solo home run by Hunter Renfroe in the sixth inning, but the Cardinals added another insurance run in the eighth inning with an RBI single by Tommy Edman.

Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas allowed three runs on six hits and three walks in five innings, while striking out six batters. Brewers' starter Corbin Burnes allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks in 3 2/3 innings, while striking out five batters.

The Cardinals bullpen was excellent, as Giovanny Gallegos, T.J. McFarland, and Ryan Helsley combined to allow just one hit and no runs in 4 1/3 innings of relief.
