Atlanta Braves Activate Cavan Biggio From the Injured List
Biggio Returns to the Braves After Two-Month Absence
The Atlanta Braves have activated infielder Cavan Biggio from the injured list. Biggio had been out since late May with a lower back injury. He is expected to make his return to the lineup on Tuesday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Biggio was hitting .245 with four home runs and 16 RBIs in 49 games before he went on the injured list. He is expected to provide a boost to the Braves' offense, which has struggled at times this season.
Biggio's Return Gives Braves a Much-Needed Boost
The Braves have been struggling offensively in recent weeks, and Biggio's return is a welcome sight for manager Brian Snitker.
“He's a big part of our offense,” Snitker said. “He's a guy who can hit for power and get on base, and he's also a good defender. We're excited to have him back.”
Biggio is expected to play second base on Tuesday night, with Ozzie Albies moving to shortstop.
Braves Hope to Make a Playoff Push
The Braves are currently in third place in the NL East, 7.5 games behind the New York Mets. However, they are still in the race for a wild-card spot.
The return of Biggio could help the Braves make a push for the playoffs. He is a talented player who can make a difference in the lineup.
“We're excited to have him back,” Snitker said. “He's a big part of our team, and we think he can help us win some games.”
